My Qualifications and Job Experience I have been an active freelance proofreader since 1996. I added copyediting and web-related services in 1998. I use The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition for style and punctuation, Princeton Review's Grammar Smart for grammar and sentence structure, and Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th edition as my vocabulary authority. If your work is formatted according to a particular journal's style, I will verify that your work is in conformity! I can easily adapt to the styles that are required by your publication.

I work at any academic level. I can read any subject matter with some level of comprehension. I have provided proofreading services for grade-school-level educational materials, post-graduate research journals, technical training manuals, and product research-based transcripts. I have provided extensive copyediting services for clients whose first language is not English. I can accommodate texts that are data intensive and that have involved mathematical equations.

My other proofreading and copyediting projects have included advertising materials, company procedural and training manuals, meeting/seminar materials, newsletters, membership directories, self-help books, and financial investment communiqués. I have proofed entire websites and I have also worked with web page design firms, who have developed "preview" pages for other clients, by proofreading from the preview site.

I have worked directly with authors, editors, and publishers. I provide only the level of service that you require, and will only make the types of changes and corrections that I am authorized to make. For suggested changes and corrections, I will provide written queries, separate from the project. I strive to never allow your work to become my work.
