My Rates and Invoice Payment Policies

I maintain scrupulous records of the actual amount of time that I spend on your project. You are not billed for "breaks" or meals. You are not billed for telephone calls, unless I am providing consultation in the form of personnel training via telephone.

You are billed only for the hours I work on your project, billed to the nearest quarter hour.

I retain a copy of my work, either hard copy or electronic file, for a minimum of six months, at no cost to you.

RATES

(as of September 2010)

Copyediting/Proofreading …………………………………………... $30.00/hour*
(I will make corrections directly to your file or query you with suggested changes; includes "quality assurance" editing to check for
accuracy of terms, terminologies, and other text-specific information)
Off-Hours Rate ………………………………………………………. $40.00/hour

(all services, including “call status,” four hours minimum for each off-hours day scheduled, advance notice required)
Telephone Consultation ………………………………………….......$30.00/hour
(includes any form of personnel training or discussion of work projects via telephone)

Surcharges:
Per-page printed from PDF file or the Web ……………..............$ .15/page**
Per page faxed to me ……………………………………………….$ .15/page**
Per page faxed to you ………………………………………………$ .20/page**
(local or long distance)

* A deposit may be required.

**These charges are to recover my costs.

You will pay for all applicable shipping costs. You can either include a return UPS or FedEx shipping label, or I will bill you at cost for return shipping.

INVOICE PAYMENT POLICY

I operate on the "honor system." I accept your work and provide my services prior to any fees being charged (a $50-$100 deposit may be required, and is deducted in full from the first invoice). I am able to do this because I have had the good fortune to work with honest people. For short-term projects of less than two weeks in duration, I will bill upon completion of the project. For long-term projects of more than two weeks, I will bill at two-week intervals for work completed to date, or at intervals that are pre-arranged.

My invoices are presented "due upon receipt" and, as such, I anticipate receiving payment within five to seven working days after the date that you receive my invoice.

Prior to accepting your work, I will discuss other payment arrangements if you are constrained by your company's accounts payable policies.

Thank you for visiting my web page! I look forward to working with you .

"The stories from my favorite books still take on many different looks,
and I'm gone again, home again,
The time has come the walrus said and little oysters hide their head,
My Twain of thought is loosely bound,
I guess it's time to Mark this down…"
